Chairman’s Message

Dear members of the Logistics and
Transportation Division,
It is a tremendous privilege to assume the role of Chairman
for the Logistics & Transportation Division of the Hong Kong Institution of
Engineers (HKIE) for the 2025/2026 session. I extend my heartfelt appreciation
to all Committee Members and Division members for your trust and unwavering
support. This responsibility is both humbling and inspiring as we navigate a
critical era for our industry.
First, I would like to express my deep respect and
gratitude to our Immediate Past Chairman – Ir Carmen CHU for their visionary
leadership and tireless dedication during the past session. Her contribution together with the tremendous
efforts from the previous
committee / co-opted members have laid a robust foundation for advancing our
profession’s commitment to efficiency, environmental stewardship, and societal impact.
This year, I am committed to building on this momentum by
prioritizing three key pillars: Innovation, Collaboration, and Talent
development. We will strengthen
initiatives to foster cross-disciplinary
partnerships, integrate emerging technologies (such as
AI-driven logistics, autonomous vehicles, and smart infrastructure), and create
structured mentorship programs to empower the next generation of engineers and
leaders in logistics and transportation.
The global landscape is undergoing rapid transformation.
From digitalization and sustainability mandates to geopolitical shifts and
evolving supply chain dynamics, our industry is at the crossroads of
opportunity and disruption. To stay ahead, we must embrace continuous learning,
adapt to disruptive technologies, and champion sustainable practices that
balance e?iciency with environmental and social responsibility.
“We move, We rise” – I, together with our teams, will
continue to deliver high-impact technical seminars, workshops, and ?eld visits—focused
on real-world applications, cutting-edge research, and global best practices.
These platforms will equip our members with the tools to navigate complexity,
drive innovation, and lead transformative projects.
I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to serve this
distinguished community. With your active participation and support, I am
con?dent that we can turn today’s challenges into catalysts for growth,
innovation, and leadership. Let us unite—together—to advance our profession,
serve society, and build a more connected, sustainable, and resilient future
for logistics and transportation.
