Community production co-living: craftmanship and the community
Ir Dr Victor C M WONG

A community and Wheel Thing Makers (WTM) visit was held in 2 December 2017. First, the founders of WTM gave an informative briefing on the organization and their aim of creating a knowledge exchange platform and makers base for creativity, applied technology and social innovation. Their focus is on the creation of self-driven and power-assisted devices. By taking the initiative to connect neighbors within the makers community, and disseminating and sharing knowledge of bike creations, they hope to encourage more people to dedicate themselves to creating innovative ideas for society and improving lives.

A guided tour in To Kwa Wan and the ex-Cattle Depot was conducted after the talk by an experienced founder of WTM. Our members learned many stories about the traditional local shops and stores featured in the tour. This tour was definitely inspiring and gave members a new understanding of society in Hong Kong and To Kwa Wan.
