The Challenges of Logistics Technology – Opportunities and Innovation

As the chairman of conference organizing committee, Ir Dr YM Wong mentioned that “Hong Kong Industry is facing a paradigm change of operating challenges due to new logistics technology and changing business modes that involve high value-added and innovative ingredients. At the same time, moving to a ‘blue-sea’ competition will gain many new opportunities for the logistics players as well as Hong Kong industry as a whole to survive in the future time to come. Technology will definitely be an essence to help us competitive and ‘smart’ under the new scenarios.”
The technical seminar, sponsored by BPS Global, was held jointly by Logistics & Transport Division and Manufacturing & Industrial Division on 27 September 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Guests of Honor, Mr Frank Chan, JP (Secretary for Transport and Housing) & Ir Dr Hon Lo Wai Kwok (Legislative Council member), together with five distinguished speakers, Ir Kelvin Ko (Group Vice President and Head of Logistics Technology of BPS Group), Mr Eric Chong (President & CEO of Siemens Ltd., Hong Kong and Macau), Miss Dixin Chen (Chief Engineer of Sinomach Materials Handling Research Institute - Beijing), Mr Kevin Chan (Chairman of Store Friendly Self Storage Group), Mr Simon KY Wong (CEO of Logistics and Supply Chain Multi Tech R & D Centre) shared their insights on the logistics technology challenges in the future from different perspectives. Over 150 guests from local industry attended the seminar.
After the presentations, there were discussions on the stage on the technology and challenges in logistics industry in Asia. The seminar was very informative.
