Report

Technical seminar on Logistics Supply Chain Management with Block Chain – A Business Perspective

By Ir. Prof Patrick Lee

The technical seminar was held by Logistics & Transportation Division on 3rd December 2018 at Arup’s office.  Over 25 guests from local industries attended this technical seminar.

The speaker, Mr. Lawrence Tam of Tata Consultancy Services, briefed the development of clock chain technology in the beginning of the technical seminar. When there is any information updated, the block chain technology crosschecks and confirms the information status amongst the block chain loop in the supply chain through the information system. This ensures the true and updated information could be transferred within the supply chain and the integrity of information could be committed.  In addition, he presented some other cases in cold chain management.

After the presentation, there were discussions on the stage to exchange ideas on the block chain technology and key challenges in supply chain.  The seminar was very informative and successful. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the distinguished speaker, Mr. Lawrence Tam, and the helpers for their contribution to the seminar.
