[FULL] Technical Visit to Tencent’s new Headquarter “Tencent Seafront Tower” on Smart City Technologies

Programme Highlights

 

Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, and founded in 1998, Tencent is an internet-based technology and cultural enterprise. The company surpassed the market value of US$500 billion in 2018, becoming the first Asian technology company to cross the valuation mark. It has since then emerged as one of Asia's most valuable companies, and among the world's top technology companies by market value. Tencent has been credited as one of the world's most innovative companies by numerous media and firms.

 

Through the company’s two principal business operations, ‘social platforms’ and ‘digital content’, Tencent develops and delivers game-changing products, such as social communication platforms ‘Weixin/WeChat’ and ‘QQ’. Guided by its “user oriented” business philosophy, Tencent achieves its mission via the delivery of integrated internet solutions to over 1 billion netizens. Tencent also provides cutting-edge financial technology and seamless mobile payment solutions that are helping support the development of smart cities, smart transport and smart retail.

 

Tencent's new headquarter “Tencent Seafront Tower” is located in Shenzhen Nanshan, the space is designed to fit approximately 10,000 employees. It is an intelligent building designed with a variety of green spaces. Different new technologies are applied in this twin-skyscrapers, such as rapid facial recognition is used for security and employee access control.

 

A guided tour will be arranged exclusively for HKIE members in its new headquarter for this technical visit.
